FSA fines Alliance and Leicester £7 million pounds for mis selling of PPI (Payment Protection Insurance)

The Financial Services Authority (FSA) fined Alliance and Leicester £7 million pounds in October 2008  for serious failings in its telephone sales of Payment Protection Insurance.

From January 2005 to December 2007, Alliance & Leicester sold around 210,000 Payment Protection Insurance Policies to its customers without considering what customers needed and not informing customers that PPI (Payment Protection Insurance) was optional.
